Nostalgia
This page will be dedicated to various things for which ihave a great sense of nostalgia. This is why I chose the very Spyro-like aesthetic fof this page. Don't let the appearance fool you thouhg. This page, much like the entire site, is not fully "family friendly". Note: I don't still morally approve of some of the stuff i will be speaking about on this page. I just had goof memories accosiated with a lot of it.
Do you like old-school, Fromsoft OSTs? I don't morally approve of Fromsoft anymore, but I DO really like some of the Kin's Field, Eternal Ring music. So I created a playlist of music that sounds like that stuff.
I didn't really start to develop my own personality as far as media consuption goes, until around 2003ish. I'd grown up with Riverdace/Lord Of The Dance soundtracks, and thus, an appreciation for Enya, when my sister played it, came naturally to me. Sister then got me a cd player for my 10th birthday; the same one pictured here And that was all she wrote, so to speak. I don't have the CD player anymore (I think it stopped working). But I DID have my brother-in-law Mighty-putty the play and stop buttons into a pendant charm...which I believe I was inspired to want because of Strange Days At Blake Holsey High.
In was during these years when I discovered Eveescence, Hikaru Utada, and Linkin Park, as well as Rammstein. I don't support Rammstein or Evenescence anymore, and I'm iffy on Utada (some of the anime They/she has worked on is, imo, very problematic). But these artists, along with Enya, were my first, (shall we say it?) foundational favorites.
It was in around 2001ish when I was introduced to Final Fantasy. I think I'd maybe tried to play FFIII (which I believe was released as FFVI in the U.S.) when I was little but never got into it. But then I saw a family member playing Final Fantasy X and I simply had to try it too. I don't play it very often anymore, but it remains my favorite video game of all time. Here is a playlist dedicated to some specific songs that sent me back to a specifc time frame. It's not necessarily JUST 2007 but that's a good average for when most of these tracks converged on my ears. Somewhere Other There by Our Lady Peace reminds me of Silent Hill Because it was used in the end credits of White Noise, which was a low-key horror movie I saw part of around the same time I saw the Silent hill movie back in like 2007ish as well. The stupid song makes me cry for some reason, and thus I avoid watching the credits fo White Noise whenever it's on.
There was a whole period in there (from like 2006 to 2008) where I LIVED on Youtube crap.A SH3 parody introcused me to Flower On The Wall, if you can believe that.
